Jonathan Cottrell is a small business owner, software engineer, West Hollywood Commissioner, and father of a newborn running to bring thoughtful, practical leadership to City Hall. He believes the best solutions are built with the community, not just for it.

Put trained personnel where they are needed most, strengthen coordination between deputies, security ambassadors, businesses, and residents, and measure success by whether people actually feel safe.

MEET JONATHAN
Jonathan Cottrell is a West Hollywood Restaurant Owner and Engineer running for City Council. He moved to West Hollywood for love and found his forever home. Jonathan serves on the city's Public Facilities, Recreation & Infrastructure Commission and is a founding member of the WeHo Business Task Force. He and his husband rolled up their sleeves and reimagined GYM Bar WeHo into a beloved community gathering place. He's running because the problems worth solving are right here, in our village: clean and safe streets, small businesses and workers thriving, neighborhoods people can still afford. Jonathan knows what it's like to want to be somewhere and wonder whether you can afford to stay. Joanthan believes that we should be bold about where we're going as a city, and thoughtful and strategic about how we get there.
WHY I'M RUNNING
When I first came to West Hollywood, I was 24 years old, and I instantly felt that I was home. This city gave me a community, a place to build a business, and a place to raise my family. I’m running to protect what makes West Hollywood special, take on the challenges we face, and prepare our city for the future.
